My travel to Sylhet, experiencing a tour with friends was too exciting and adventurous. I’ve gathered many good experiences while visiting Sylhet for the first time. For a few reasons my three days, Sylhet tours will always be a memorable one. So, here I’m to inspire all to visit Sylhet and explore the natural beauty of this wonderful city. This Sylhet tour guide will help you to plan your trip, and visit many sightseeing and top tourist attractions in Sylhet.
Some Basics About Sylhet
Sylhet (সিলেট) is situated on the banks of the Surma River and is surrounded by the Jaintiapur, Khasi Hills, and Tripura hills. Sylhet is known for its tea plantations and natural beauty, and it is often referred to as the "tea capital" of Bangladesh. It became Holy Land when famous Sufi Hazrat Shah Jalal (R) came here for the first time with 360 saints to spread Islam. The city has a rich history, it has been ruled by various dynasties and empires, including the Mughals, British, and the Nawabs of Bengal.
When To Visit Sylhet?
Sylhet is considered one of the top tourism destinations due to its favorable weather conditions throughout the year, which is a rare thing in other parts of the country. However, the period between January and March is particularly recommended for visiting Sylhet, as the climate is excellent and not too crowded compared to the peak travel season.
How To Visit Sylhet?
Sylhet can be reached from Dhaka through various modes of transportation including air, road, and rail. Additionally, there are several high-quality public bus services available from Dhaka to Sylhet. Furthermore, Sylhet is situated in proximity to the Indian border at Tamabil, providing the option of road travel from India.
Sylhet Tour Guide (exploring in 3 Days)
I made a road trip by private car from Dhaka to all tourist places in Sylhet and found it comfortable and safe. My primary focus of this tour was to explore the natural beauty of Sylhet.
In my whole Sylhet tour, me and my friends were guided by Alom vhai(Driver). It’s a pleasure to mention him here because he nicely guided and helped us to know a lot about Sylhet.
Moreover, my three days itinerary will help you to plan your tour in a group.
Day1: Going to sylhet, Jaflong, Ratargul Swamp Forest
Day2: Volagonj Sada Pathor, king Bridge, wireless Road, Hazrat Shahjalal Mazar Sharif
We woke up early as we had to travel three hours to reach our next destination, Volagonj (Sada Pathor). Upon arrival, we grabbed some snacks and noticed that the place was crowded with tourists. Nevertheless, we managed to get tickets for the boat that would take us to the zero point.
The water was so cold and crystal-clear that we could see all the way down to the bottom. White rocks were scattered everywhere, which is why it's called Sadapathor. After reaching the zero point, we changed our clothes and jumped into the freezing water. To ensure that non-swimmers could enjoy the water, we brought some life jackets. We then took a break and had lunch at a local restaurant where we all tried the famous lunch pack consisting of goose meat, plain rice, mashed potatoes, and some other dishes.photo from:Shakhawat Hossain
After lunch, we returned to town and visited the King Bridge, one of the oldest iron bridges in Bangladesh built during British rule.
There was also the famous Ali Amjad Clock Tower. As the sun began to set, we headed to Hazrat Shahjalal Mazar Sharif, where we saw many attractions, including a road with no electric wires.
Day3: Sreemangal(tea gardens) , 7colour tea shop(Adi Nilkantha Tea Cabin)
On the last day of our tour, we saved the most attractive part of Sylhet for last, which was the tea gardens. As usual, we woke up early and drove to Srimangal, which took three hours. Since we visited in the winter season, the afternoon wasn't too hot. We entered the tea gardens and walked around, observing the workers picking tea leaves. We could see miles and miles of tea gardens, and it felt like this area only had tea gardens and nothing else.
Then, we visited the famous tea shop known worldwide for its seven-color tea. We all tried the famous tea and rested in the tea garden field. Afterward, we had lunch and began the journey back home. We returned to our town at midnight.
There are numerous reasons to visit Sylhet, and ultimately, our country is known for its remarkable hospitality. Regardless of your destination, you will undoubtedly be impressed by the warm and welcoming nature of the people you encounter along the way.
